At Ashapura farm we are growing ‘Bhagwa’ variety of pomegranate which is one of the best variety with red seed. The seed of the pomegranate are consumed. The entire seed is consumed raw, though the fleshy outer portion of the seed is the part that is desired. The taste differs depending on the variety of pomegranate and its state of ripeness. It can be very sweet or it can be very sour or tangy, but most fruits lie somewhere in between, which is the characteristic taste, laced with notes of its tannin.One pomegranate delivers 40% of an adult’s daily vitamin C requirement. It is also a rich source of folic acid and of antioxidants.

The pomegranate fruit is an apple shaped fruit that is red in color on the outside. Inside the pomegranate fruit, there are many small seeds, the pomegranate seeds. 1. Fleshman








This variety is large and spherical and grows to about 3 inches in diameter. The skin and the seeds of fruits are of the same pink color, and are extremely sweet to taste.

The seeds are soft and of extremely good quality with nature.

2. Balegal








This variety is regularly found in San Diego, and the fruit is large and fruit always have round shape with 3 inches in long. Belagals varieties are larger in size than the fleshman variety.

The skin of the fruit is of a pale pink color and the flesh is extremely sweet and taste has a rich dark colored flesh.

3. Crab








The pomegranate trees behavior like this variety are usually serious bearing trees. The fruit is large and is extremely rich in flavor and color with almond taste.

It looks like a high quality fruit variety of pomegranate.

4. Francis








Originally pomegranate fruit is from Jamaica region; this variety is quite large, sweet and split-resistant.

5. Cloud








‘Cloud’ grows well and bears sweet taste but white-fleshed fruit that is not as appealing as the red-fleshed fruit in-between the seasonal time. It is a medium shaped fruit, with the flesh having a greenish-red color. The juice is sweet and white in nature.

Recipe Name : Pomegranate Tossed Salad










  1. 1 md Head lettuce; torn or chopped
  2. 1 md Cucumber; diced
  3. 1 lg Tomato; diced
  4. 1 lg Avocado; diced
  5. 2 tb Chopped onion
  6. 1 c Pomegranate seeds


Toss ingredients and top with favorite dressing. Serves 6. (Note: Garnish your traditional Waldorf salad with pomegranate seeds; add 2/3 cup pomegranate seeds to Fattoush – Arabic bread salad; mix in the seeds with a variety of lettuces, such as radicchio and endive, topping with olive oil and fresh lemon juice.

    1. 2 c Apples or pears; diced
    2. 1 c Celery; chopped
    3. 1/2 c Nuts; chopped
    4. 1 c Seedless grapes; halved
    5. 2 Pomegranates

Citrus Dressing

  1. 1 Peel of one lemon or lime; grated
  2. 1/3 c Lemon or lime juice
  3. 1/3 c Honey
  4. 1/2 c Salad oil
  5. 1/2 ts Salt
  6. 1/2 ts Paprika
  7. 1/2 ts Prepared mustard


Mix the first four ingredients.Blend with chilled citrus dressing. Spoon into crisp lettuce cup. Halve pomegranate. Spoon out flesh-covered seeds and sprinkle over salad.
